Great free version
Pros
I use the free version of this software and as expected there are not many bells and whistles with it, however, the software meets my needs. The virtual waiting room saves me time daily. I also think the interface is very intuitive with user buttons in the places you would expect them. Finally, the meeting log allows me to review the length of my sessions, so I do not have any billing issues.
Cons
The only thing I see as an area of improvement would be to have a subscription rate between free and professional that would allow for a user to have access to the screenshare and file transfer features. While $35/month seems reasonable for an individual with a full-time private practice, $420 per year is somewhat prohibitive to someone with a part-time private practice.

Doxy is the most professional and HIPAA compliant platform for counselors and doctors.
Pros
Doxy is HIPAA compliant, and the platform is easy to use for myself and my clients. Clients do not need to download anything or enter personal information. They click on the secure link that I provide to them. Our connection is reliable unless one of us has WIFI issues (which is not Doxy's fault). I am thrilled with Doxy and feel it is more professional, protective, and secure than other platforms.
Cons
I love Doxy! Doxy is the most professional and HIPAA compliant platform I have found for counselors and doctors.

Easy to use but unreliable
Ease of use is the only reason I've not switched to another platform, but if the dinging continues, I will, because it renders the product unusable. I have a couple of clients who experienced problems frequently enough that they've asked me just to schedule Zoom sessions with them so that they don't have to deal with Doxy.Me.
Pros
The best thing about Doxy.Me is how easy it is for both me and my clients to use. There is nothing to download, and I don't have to set up each meeting individually. Clients can use the same link every time. Its basic features are exactly what I need.
Cons
The software is unreliable. I've experienced a lot of freezing, dropped calls, and times when it just wasn't even possible to connect. It's more than just a once in awhile problem. If a client is on their phone, they can't seem to access the chat window, for reasons unknown. Recently, I started hearing dings every 30-40 seconds, as though a new person joined the waiting room, but there is no new person. It's been incredibly distracting both for me and for clients. I attempted to contact customer support about it but have not heard back.

Doxy.me is the only telehealth/teletherapy tool for me!
Pretty close to perfect. I get great service, very few call issues (which are generally an internet issue and NOT a Doxy issue), and for the price I get a TON of great tools and abilities.
Pros
I love everything about Doxy. The price, the ease of use, the ability to communicate with patients en mass via waiting room announcements, and the ability for my patients to come into the waiting room for links to coping skills and important research documents. I can collect payments right through Doxy via Stripe, collect patient feedback via Dokbot, share information via screen share, and file transfer. Doxy provides analytics and meeting histories, and connects you will tools like therapeutic exercises with reminders, group calls, and electronic teleconsent with signatures.
Cons
Honestly, there's nothing I "like least". I would say the one thing I would consider an improvement would be to add a reminder sound (ding!), which can be set for each call individually (or not at all) by the provider, to remind both patient and provider that it's time to "wrap it up." And while this would be a wonderful addition, I definitely don't consider it a deal breaker.
Reasons for Choosing Doxy.me
I first switched because I became aware that Doxy provides a static address, which allows my patients to bookmark and easily return to Doxy every week. All the other features and bonuses are why I stay.Switched From

Affordable and simple telehealth solution -- recommended but with a few gotchas
I've aided in selecting and deploying (Doxy and other solutions) at numerous practices.
It is a safe and recommended choice. It's simple to administrate and use.
Despite the "peer to peer" architecture it's reasonably reliable.
Please make sure your provider computers have an SSD hard drive and at least a Core i5 or similar processor.
Please make sure your practice has fast Internet, preferably fiber.
Please train your providers how to restart their Chrome browser if there is an issue access the Microphone. Always a good idea to do this 5 minutes before a telehealth call.
Pros
#1 Doxy.me is a very affordable solution.
#2 Doxy is healthcare specific (unlike Zoom and Teams).
#3 Doxy is also very simple! It is easy to configure and centrally manage by IT, or even by a lightly practice administrator. You can do it! : ) From a central management website the admin can create providers' custom weblinks, that can be given to patients.
Cons
#1 Customer support is not good. It's a chat. Historically I've waited 12 - 24 hours for a reply. Not acceptable. Not when you have providers/owners asking for clarity on issues. Doxy, if you are listening, offer an optional paid support option with a phone number. Most practices would gladly pay for US-based good quality support.
#2 Doxy uses a web browser -- ideally Chrome. It is not uncommon to need to restart chrome for better performance or if a micrphone/webcam "stops working." Make sure your computers have an SSD or M.2 hard drive --- not a mechanical hard drive. Or Chrome will be slow, and so will be Doxy!
#3 Doxy uses peer to peer technology for its video calls. This is highly disappointing. The provider's computer/device directly talks across the Internet to the patient's computer or phone. Doxy is ESPECIALLY sensitive to a good Internet connection at your practice ... and also at your patient's home or cellular network! Make sure you have fast fiber Internet or similar FAST connection for your providers. Warn them that using Doxy on their phone or at home is at the mercy of their cellular or home Internet connection. Warn them that 1/2 the time the patient's slow Internet or slow computer may cause minor glitches.

Good for the very small people.
Overall, very good. Clear picture, clear sound quality. Intuitive to use for me and clients.
Pros
Free version - allows me to continue to work with the most vulnerable of people, knowing it's secure, HIPAA compliant (although not a thing in the UK, it speaks to the security) and has been more reliable than the paid version of another well-known platform. Thank you doxy - please continue to help us really small helpers who are helping those who can't afford any extra costs.

Thank You, Doxy.me
Overall, Doxy.me is a valuable, efficient, budget-friendly tool to effectively provide virtual service to our consumers and is highly recommended.
Pros
So user-friendly for me and our consumers. Provides excellent value for the investment.
Cons

Great for telementalhealth
The program is HIPPA compliant, I can use it with very minimal issues, and I think it is a good platform.
Pros
The software is easy to use - both myself and my clients, it works well 85% of the time, and the other 15% it either improves while on the call or at worst, we still have audio. This is generally with clients who have tried to do sessions from their vehicles.
Cons
In a previous program, I liked that clients could leave me text messages via the portal. While this is a viable option while on with a client, I have not seen a way to do this with clients not on the portal.

Recommend Doxy.me without reservation
It just works, and my clients report the same. GOOD JOB! And thanks. I've used both the free version and premium version. Premium offers online sessions with two clients, e.g., a couple, in two different sites, e.g., work places during their breaks. It's always reliable, always user friendly, and HIPPA compliant.
Pros
Doxy.me is a HIPPA compliant user friendly, reliable application for telehealth.
Cons
No complaints. I guess if the premium version were free, that would be even better!

Best Medical Practice Assistant
Providing excellent, HIPAA compliant telemedicine is a must for our practice. Being able to meet patients where they are at, instead of having them wait, take time away from work or family, and make sure their healthcare needs are met is the number 1 reason we use this program in our practice. It is an excellent program.
Pros
I love the ease of use. I like that there is nothing to download for the patient or provider. Everything is cloud based. Can be used on any device with a camera and internet access.
Cons
Sometimes based on internet service providers, the service can be slow. But this is an outside problem.
Reasons for Choosing Doxy.me
AdvancedMD utilized the ZOOM platform. This required several steps before seeing a patient. And required the patient to download software and to make sure everything was updated. This could delay the appointment time by 30-45 minutes if there were download or updating problems. Doxy, also had a free version, which was excellent!Switched From

Psychologist-Very Happy with Doxy.me for Teletherapy
I wouldn't have had a teletherapy practice as early as I did without a reliable HIPAA-compliant teleconferencing service like Doxy.me. I realize that there are others out there now, but Doxy.me was one of the firsts. I was up and running Day 1 of the shut down.
Pros
Biggest thing! Doxy.me gives you the same dedicated link for your patients to click EVERYTIME, NO passwords , NO user ID's! Patients, like the rest of us, forget things all the time, and I am always resending info. However, after one or two Doxy.me sessions, No one ever has trouble logging in. I get so angry now when MY providers try to give a 17-step map to log onto their sessions! Also, I kid you not, that Doxy.me takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'! Some days I'm on Doxy.me straight for up to 5 hours (I only do teletherapy) and it just keeps running smoothly.
Cons
Especially early on, calls would drop or not even start until I logged on multiple times. That is very rare now (haven't had a problem in months). Credit Doxy.me. They always want to know if you have trouble and overtime the product gets more robust.

Best Ever
I have been using Doxy.me for almost a year now. Since signing up I have received nothing but praise from my clients who use it. When doing therapy over the internet it is important to have a product that is not only HIPPA compliant but also Secure.
Pros
A colleague recommended this product to me and I have been using it ever since. I love the feature of having a virtual waiting room for my clients. I am notified promptly when they have entered the "waiting room". I can share the screen with my clients while working on a treatment plan or homework. I can use it on my computer, my phone or my tablet and so can they. IT is the best HIPPA compliant app I have found.
Cons
I have not had any issues related to this software. Most of the time the issues I have are with WIFI or other connectivity issue not related to this product.

Does what it promises to do well.
Doxy has made it easy to have a backup video tele-therapy platform.
Pros
I love that all you need is a permanent link. My patients can engage with me through video easily and from any platform. Some of my patients actually prefer to use doxy instead of fancier platforms because it is so amazingly easy to use. The customization is a bit clunky, but I am not that bothered by that.
Cons
The customization is a bit clunky, and it is difficult to make it look elegant. For me that is a pity, because it does not support branding efforts so easily.

A pretty good experience overall
Overall doxy has been my go-to platform for almost all of my therapy sessions. It has been reliable with very few exceptions. Lately (April 2023) I've noticed a less robust connection, but I also moved so it could be my location or new service provider. Not sure yet!
Pros
I most appreciate the ease of use. Clients don't need special software and can quickly be brought to my waiting room with one click. I also appreciate that this is HIPAA compliant so I can meet my ethical requirement to provide a secure site for clients, especially those paying with medical insurance. I am grateful for the free service!
Cons
It would be great if there was a (loud?) notification sound when sending a message in the chat feature, because I've noticed when I send a message, many times my clients don't even realize I've sent one.For those people saying the connection is bad with clients doing the calls from their car; I've come to realize that when someone logs in from their phone the connection is way better if the person turns off their WiFi on their phone. It seems like leaving the WiFi on causes the phone to keep searching for WiFi connections and slows down the connection. It works WAY better using the data, so if my clients have unlimited data I always recommend they use their data plan for the call.

Social-Forward Healthcare
I have had VERY few hiccups with quality, connectivity, and other technical issues, but they appeared to be concentrated around the time a major overhaul of the aesthetics and features was taking place. I love it, my patients love it, and my staff love it. We have attempted other programs with "better" functions, but those fell with empty promises and the "added functionality" was marketed to make work flow simpler, but they were just so much more confusing than Doxy. We are really please with Doxy, and don't foresee a change in any near future.
Pros
I love the simplicity for patients to be able to access my virtual waiting room from anywhere. The features, as needed, is a great functional option; we're a nonprofit clinic and don't need all the features every day and don't need the cost to branch over every day. So, having the option to have them for a particular day is best for growth for any sized company and in any direction. Several other products were charging upwards of $300 per month when it was just me trying to reach patients in rural farming communities to prevent 3 hour travel times to get to the office. Doxy saved the day. Tele-health should be for ALL, not only those willing to pay the cost for convenience.
Cons
Not much; I do wish the app was still around. That made it easier for Providers on tablets, and notification when the Patient is in while multitasking.

"Life saver" HIPAA compliant telemedicine solution
I support a medium-sized primary care medical practice. They need to implement telemedicine almost immediately in light of this Corona Virus crisis. I was able to create an account and send out a request that was received by another device that I have, and within minutes was able to have a live videocall between the two. The graphics were fine, the audio was fine, very little lag. The upgraded version allows for file transfer, which would be better than sending files via email for security reasons. Please be aware that the provider will need to use a device with a Chrome browser. When I tested using it as the provider from a Chrome browser from my Android tablet, it did not work -- I have tested it primarily from a Windows 10 laptop, Chrome browser. I have tested this with a gentleman in his 50s who was easily able to receive the invitation and get access to it from his Android smartphone. I have tested it with Android devices and Windows 10 laptops. Will be testing with an iPad later today. I was very pleased that this was a workable, simple, scalable solution that my medical office client will be able to implement almost immediately, with no up front cost unless they want the upgraded features. The basic functionality is phenomenal, especially considering the medical crisis that we are in. Thank you for this doxy.me
Pros
Patients do not need to create an account, and are able to access from popular browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, from any device.
Cons
Well, patients still have to allow access for the browser to use the camera and microphone. And the email link will open in whichever internet browser is default, and not all patients know how to call up a link in the correct browser. This is difficult sometimes for people who have very few tech skills. However, these problems would exist currently with almost ANY telemedicine solution, as they have more to do with the permissions on the devices being used by the patients rather than relating to doxy.me specifically. Also, they advertised that there was a 30-day "free trial" for the upgraded version, but once I signed up, the upgraded version was only available by paying for it -- however, the fee was very reasonable.

Free, confidential, easy to use
I'm a mental health counselor who had to suddenly figure out how to provide telehealth sessions in a HIPAA compliant way once COVID 19 hit. A colleague & my boss recommended Doxy.me as free, easy to use, & HIPAA compliant. It has proven to be all 3. Initially I had some extremely frustrating experiences trying to get my bluetooth to work with it, but once I figured that out it's been pretty smooth. I'm glad it's been smooth, because customer service seems to only consist of their user issues library. I don't know how to get a hold of an actual person for support. It appears that must be a premium/paid feature.
Pros
I like that there is a waiting room where more than 1 client can be waiting w/o any overlap or breach of confidentiality. The software is very easy to use for both me & my clients- no downloading a specific app- just go to a website. We use the same link every time, so there's no last minute prep needed, or changes each time that I or the client have to keep track of. They have clearly worked very hard once COVID hit to improve the system, work out bugs, & address issues. I rarely have an issue anymore.
Cons
Human support (beyond the problems library online) seems to be a paid/premium thing- I can't seem to access it as a free user.
There were some frustrating bugs 3 months ago, but they've clearly worked very hard to get the kinks out & it is now a very smooth process nearly every time.

Pros

Doxy.me saved me and my practice!
Doxy.me is excellent for videoconferencing. Like everything else, it has its moments, but their staff seems to be “on it” to resolve issues quickly.
Pros
Due to Covid, nursing homes where I had a contract informed me that I would not be able to come back into the building on March 13, 2020. I started using other video conferencing tools when a colleague told me about Doxy and how it was HIPAA compliant. I started using it then and I have never looked back. When the nursing homes got to where they could not do telehealth with me anymore, I started looking around and found Cerebral. I signed on with them and was pleased that I already knew how to use that software. To me, it’s easy to use. Wish I could put a consent form in my waiting room on the free side of it.
Cons
I wish there was a way that I could move the thumbnail of me to a different location on the screen. Sometimes the person holding the device in the nursing home is behind that… It looks like their head on my body. It would be nice if there was a way to boost their signal when it is weak.

Used Doxy successfully for about 6 mths, and now it is freezing constantly during sessions
It was working really well for client appointments (which I do a lot of using tele conferencing systems) but has become extremely unreliable in the last month. I did recommend it to one colleague who is having similar issues
Pros
In the past I would have said easy to use and reliable ..
Cons
I have tried every possible combination to have the highest speed possible, and my clients have high speed service, but Doxy is constantly freezing up during sessions. I used to have excellent service with Doxy and I'm wondering why it has changed. When I do Doxy's diagnostic service it says everything is "excellent", but I can tell you it is not!I have already paid for the service for the year, but I'm considering switching. I received an email from the CEO of Doxy a month or so ago saying he was leaving and i am wondering if things have changed and the service isn't what it used to be?

Solid product
I use the free product when a paid product fails me. I like how easy it is for my clients to use because it doesn't need an app. I've hesitated to use the paid service because it is expensive if I'm only using the telehealth feature, which is all I need. It would be nice if they had a lower price for just that use.
Pros
I love the way the waiting room is set up because it makes it very clear to my clients that I'm there but have just not signed into their session yet. It is the most like an actual waiting room. My clients don't get nervous that the app isn't working correctly. I also like that it tells me how long they have been waiting and how long we've been in session.I use the free product when a paid product fails me. Pros
I like that Doxy is fully HIPAA compliant. That really drove my decision to purchase. I also like that I can count on my hand how many times in 4 years I have had a technical issue with Doxy, and on those times it was really easy to get tech support.
Cons

Excellent product, highly recommend!
We have been an early user of the platform, even before COVID-19, and I found that the simplicity, reliability, and easy of use simply makes it the leading option among other products that try too hard to accomplish something simple. With no log-ins necessary for the clients, and compatibility across all operating systems and devices, Doxy truly offers the best product at the best value.
Pros
I love the option to customize and white-label the product interface. This feature adds immensely to the patient experience and helps to elevate your brand.
Cons
Audio connections are easily interrupted or disabled if the patient is using an outdated browser, has incoming calls, or swipes between windows. This does not happen too often, and Doxy includes simple troubleshooting steps for both the client and the provider. However it can be a deterrent to a timely start during a meeting.
Reasons for Choosing Doxy.me

An excellent platform that is easy to use
The benefit of being able to provide services to my clients who experience challenges coming to the office for their therapy sessions has been a plus. It also provides me with the opportunity to provide extended evening hours where it would not have been possible in the past. Thank you Doxy.me for adding to the flexibility in my schedule in being able to provide more service options to me and my clients.
Pros
Doxy. me has allowed me to provide telehealth services to my clients from a platform that is easy to use and easy for my clients to connect with me via a link. It allows me to see when my clients enter my waiting room but also provides me with feedback on the average amount of time, I spend in session with each one of my clients. I love that with the professional version I can provide my couple access for services when they are not able to be in the same space for the session. I love the additional features available, such as changing the background setting and treatment forms, that assist in improving my practice.
Cons
There is nothing that I dislike about the system, it currently meets all of my needs.

Great product and extremely affordable
Overall Doxy.me is great. I highly recommend this site for business and individual providers. You receive a lot of services for your money and being able to say you have a free HIPAA compliant service is amazing.
Pros
Doxy.me is very easy to use. It is very self-explanatory. I set up 10 accounts for providers at our office and showed them how to use them. Even our providers who are not tech-savvy had no issues.
Cons
I have no complaints. Some of our providers only use the free feature and the connections are great, the virtual waiting room is great and none of our clients have had complaints. One of our providers paid for a level one so they could share their screen and utilize the texting feature. Another provider pays so she is able to host group therapy with 8 clients and everyone has had success.
Reasons for Switching to Doxy.me
We currently use one of the other products for scheduling and billing, but adding the telehealth feature was extremely expensive, and we hardly received any customer support regarding it. After doing a lot of research early on in the pandemic we came across doxy.me and their support team answered all our questions and the process was extremely affordable and easy to work with.- Industry: Mental Health Care

Outstanding Product - Someday an Industry Standard?
I initially started using doxy to cut down on missed appointments due to illness or conflicts. Doxy allowed me to engage in "telehealth" on those occasions when a client would otherwise have to "late cancel," thus leaving me with the option of charging them for it (not good from a customer relations standpoint) or eating it. Then, when the coronavirus emergency hit, I was able to transition easily to all telehealth, thus keeping myself and my clients safe. Yay!
Pros
I wanted a platform that was secure for my clients. What most attracted me to doxy vs. other secure platforms (or other platforms in general) was the fact that my users (clients) didn't have to download anything, just click on a link. In a former life, I used to design and develop computer application systems and I really like the "feel" of doxy, it's usability for me and my clients, plus my modest exposure to their tech support has been quick and useful. All of this allowed me to transition quickly into the "telehealth" arena very quickly, which I appreciated during the coronavirus outbreak emergency.
Cons
It's hard to respond as there are so many positives. If at all possible, it would be nice to have additional ways to troubleshoot connectivity or video/audio quality issues in real-time. For example, real-time advice for the user as to what to do to correct things on their side. I know a lot of this is in the available articles, but it's hard to go searching through articles when you're trying to quickly get things going during a "meeting." Maybe I'm asking for an "artificial intelligence" solution that's not feasible?
Reasons for Switching to Doxy.me
HIPAA-compliance, no need for a download, and relatively inexpensive (I use the Professional version).Response from Doxy.me
Thank you for your review! Glad you were able to transition everyone to online appointments!

The Ease of Use
I have had a positive experience with Doxy.me, and my satisfaction increases with each new feature added.
Pros
Doxy.me offers user-friendly features for both clinicians and clients. Clients can join online appointments quickly without downloading. The client clicks one of the specialized link provided by the clinician, enter their details, and waits for the clinician to join. This online experience mirrors waiting in a physical office; however, it is done from the comfort of staying at home. Clients who were initially hesitant about online technology found it easy and convenient, expressing surprise at its simplicity and overall positive experience.
Cons
The main drawback is that sometimes I have to ask the client to log out and then log back in if the audio or camera is not functioning. However, these functions usually work fine once the client logs back into Doxy.me.

So happy I switched!
My appointment reminders, which I send myself, have the same meeting link creating simplicity for my clients. There are not very many distractions with certain extra features and the screen size defaults in a way that I have the best opportunity to observe my client's non-verbals. It helps me to do the best version of my work when I'm not doing it face to face.
Pros
I really enjoy how doxy.me gives me one link to use all the time. It's simple in overall use. It's designed for the needs of clinicians and provides those needs at a substantially reduced price of other popular platforms that do not cater to clinicians. I particularly like the "pay by the day option" as I think is a great flexibility for clinicians who are still building their caseload. I also viewed it from the client's perspective and it provides a generally professional look while also being easy for the clients to use with their devices.
Cons
When I log on, the camera and microphone are already on. I would like the option to default them to being off.

It saved me through the pandemic...
Pros
Doxy.me had to be HIPPA compliant in order for me to use it. In addition to that, I find the ease of use for the client to be critical to the success of telemedicine. I appreciate the active aspects of the video and audio. I also appreciate the behind the scenes aspects such as meeting history and the virtual waiting room. The meeting history keeps track of time in and time out of the session allowing me to double check the visit length of time for billing. The virtual waiting room provides the client with the ability to check their connection, tips on best connection, the ability to send a message to me, and receive my message in return, while they are waiting.During the pandemic Doxy.me increased their capacity to respond to the explosive need for telemedicine services. Despite their investment, they offer free access to their software that allows the user to perform telemedicine visits competently. They also have a paid subscription that offers more services.I don't know what I would have done without it through the pandemic.
Cons
At times the video or audio may be problemmatic. I believe when that occurs it is not related to the software, I believe it is due to internet issues for either the provider or the client. The camera is important for clarity of the video, and again that is not a software issue.I don't have a con about Doxy.me!

Makes tele medicine simple yet secure
Living and working in Eastern KY there has always been an issue with accessibility to services for individuals without reliable transportation. Doxy.me eliminates this problem and provides access to anyone who can access a WIFI connection.
Pros
Doxy.me is one of the most simple links I have ever used, making it easy for both the clinician and the patient to connect in a secure HIPAA compliant session.
Cons
Issues with connection in areas with poor network strength, some times the sound will not work, sometimes the video won't work, and it takes a few minutes for a patient to load onto the virtual waiting room.

Love the reliability and professional feel
Doxy.me has been a really great aspect of my practice. It's HIPAA compliant and gives me a very clean, polished way to offer telehealth therapy sessions. Any questions I had were also really quickly answered by customer service, both as I was onboarding and throughout my use of the product.
Pros
I needed a HIPAA compliant platform for teletherapy sessions, so that is a critical part of what makes me like Doxy.me. It's reliable and I have only ever had a few random issues with connectivity (that were likely due to the internet connection of the client). I also really like customizability of the look at the premium level. I have had many patients comment on how professional the waiting room and the layout of the call looks because I am able to use my logo and other branding.
Cons
I have no concerns about the software. It's given me no consistent issues that weren't due to connectivity.
Reasons for Switching to Doxy.me
Doxy.me was the best combination of an affordable and HIPAA compliant option. Also now that I use it, I also really like the customizability of the waiting room and other branding.- Industry: Mental Health Care

Love this product
I've used Doxy for more than two years now and I rely on it daily to help me communicate with my clients. From live video sessions to posting information and links in my waiting room, Doxy helps me expand the care I give to my clients. Because most of my clients are seniors, I particularly love that they don't have to wait for a link during each session. The static address allows them to bookmark my Doxy site so it's always available to them.
Pros
Static address, waiting room, ability to collect copays, ability to share screen, two way uploads.
Cons
It's not really a con but I do wish the client and I could both see the time we've been in session to keep sessions to an appropriate length.

Doc See Me Lives Up to Its Mission Statement
I have been VERY happy with Doxy.me, overall. I truly appreciate that their goal of increasing telehealth access means that solo practitioners like me can use the software for free. Connectivity issues happen with different platforms on different days, and the free account allows me to have a Plan B when my EHR's video function fails.
Pros
I started using doxy.me in late February, 2020, when an immunocompromised patient requested video sessions to limit their exposure to COVID-19. I found it very easy to use, greatly appreciated the ease with which I got a Business Associate Agreement, and I like that it shows how much time has elapsed in each session. My patients have also found it to be easier to use than my EHR's video function. Also, it keeps a record of the start and stop times of all my sessions, which makes it easier to get the times right on my progress notes.
Cons
There's nothing that jumps out at me as an issue, honestly.
Reasons for Switching to Doxy.me
For my small practice, it is free. I ultimately signed up for Counsol.com's video, too, in mid-March, 2020, because I rapidly learned that connectivity was not always possible (which I chalked up to getting what I paid for - LOL) and I wanted access to another HIPAA-compliant option. I continue to use Doxy.me the most, however, because I prefer its "stopwatch" feature and my patients find it so easy to use - no username, no password, just type in the URL and we're off.Response from Doxy.me

Reliable virtual platform
I have enjoyed using this platform and it has been quite reliable.
Pros
I like that it is HIPPA compliant, easy to navigate, user friendly, and they offer a free version. My practice fluctuates and at times is slow which would not benefit me to pay the subscription.
Cons
It would be nice if they offered different pricing options. I realized the higher you pay the more the "bells and whistles". The paid subscription has some great features which can be customized.

Great Platform for Telehealth
Solid, HIPAA complant platform.
Pros
We are very happy with the ease of use for providers and clients. The video and sound have overall been very clear with little interruptions.
Cons
The cost for all users in our office is a concern. We do not know where the viral pandemic will take us in the months to come. In our area, it seems to be settling down, but we are still concerned about ongoing local and state governance of business related to the same.

Doxyme helped me start my practice
I use it daily, and it needs to function as a virtual office for me, and that it does it's job and is HIPAA compliant.
Pros
I use a lot of different platforms and Doxyme is the easiest and most intuitive by far. I like being able to charge patient's right in the room, and it's no hassle.
Cons
The bandwidth and quality of session video and audio could be better.

Efficient and effective
I originally chose Doxy.me as a back-up for when my normal video platform, VSee, was not working. But I now consistently use Doxy.me instead of VSee because it's more reliable.
Pros
Doxy.me has been easy to use for both myself, a licensed psychotherapist, and my clients some of whom are not very tech savvy. It has a user-friendly interface which makes life a lot easier for those of us who had to quickly move to Telehealth.
Cons
Sometimes the visuals aren't as stable as I would like - and not sure if this is the stress on the bandwidth or a software issue.

Awesome platform for individual or couple's counseling
Simple to use, even for the most computer-challenged!
Pros
This product is very easy to use for both my staff and clientele.
Cons
My only complaint is that it really doesn't work well for groups larger than 4, which Doxy tells you. During the pandemic we have needed to run group therapy online, and sadly had to access another platform for that.
Response from Doxy.me
Hi!
We did make an improvement to group calling last week. Have you tested it out since then? Also, I would confirm that all participants on group call have speeds of 10mbps or higher. Group calling does take more bandwidth then a 1-to-1 call. https://discuss.doxy.me/t/weekly-product-update-big-improvements-to-group-call-feature-and-more-may-1-2020/26055

Doxy.me: Putting you face to face when you can't be there in reality
This was a one and hopefully done experience. Not terrible, but new. I have to use the software options that those I need are using for me to have meetings, etc. So, I am virtually a user and at the mercy of the system. It was one of a few lately where I had a "virtual" visit somewhere and it was more than just a 1 on 1. So that dynamic on a new system took a moment to get used to . I didn't love it or what I felt my doctor did or did not get out of it, but with health concerns, it was suitable. Perhaps it has been around for awhile, or maybe is newer. I did not do any extra checking on them because I didn't have a lot of my links until the morning of.So I dove right in. We had a 19 minute meeting and got basics covered. I see that person "live" next week, so I am going to poke around more with their intentions on Doxy.me and the furture should we need to revisit virtual meetings. I will post updates if I get relevant information.
Pros
This was a one time invite from my Dermatologist. Their company uses this method for their sudden need of a "virtual" encounter from home to office or elsewhere while keeping patient exposure low during covid-19 operations. Once we got going,it had a different layout than some other popular types of video conferencing methods and on my end I thought it was positively interesting as it was different. I don't have a special like here however.
Cons
Okay. So, this is the method a Physician of mine uses to help patients while we are in limited environments during the coronavirus. I am just a user invited to the meeting. For me, this was an out of the gate and running type moment because I had no experience with Doxy.me previously and I really received little instructions prior to my meeting. So I felt like I scrambled rather than sat comfortably waiting to join a meeting. I got the wrong provider, despite some login/join codes I had. The way it is set up I suppose was to the Prescriber's needs or likes. It was weird because camera angles and adjustments weren't so clear or fine tuned. I'd think a Dermatology office would have super power visual options to assess patients online. Not here. We had a little audio interruption. It is not a platform I'd want to be on with more than 2 of us in the future.Hopefully I won't have to. But it was an experience. I was left out of most control options and just went with it.

Excellent app for my practice
excellent; especially during this period of Coronavirus and need to change my care to online. I've used Doxy.me pretty much since its inception many years ago and have alway liked the program. As a result, I've told many colleagues about it and as a result several large clinics in the Portland Metro area use it.
Pros
aside from the fact that it's free, it is very easy for my providers and patients to use. they don't need to download anything and access my virtual waiting room directly from the URL.
Cons
the free version doesn't give any direct customer support but able to email concerns and receive relatively rapid responses
Response from Doxy.me

Easy to use and reasonably priced
Pros
The fact that I can use Doxy unlimited free of charge is really important to me as a very small business. Other video conferencing software is more expensive without offering significantly better facilities. Being web-based means I don't need clients to download software before we can connect. I also like that it's designed for healthcare which reassures my clients about privacy.
Cons
I wish I could share screen on the free version, but it's not a showstopper. Occasionally we have connection problems but that's usually the internet connection not Doxy.
