Pros
Tawk.io allows me to customize the chat bubble, see in real time what people are typing before hitting send so I know what si on their mind. It recognizes new vs return users and you can set up page specific messaging to increase conversions.
Cons
I had a web developer deploy it and it took time to get the setting right and the messaging correct, but after that it's pretty easy to use.

STEALING YOUR CUSTOMER DATA
Set up was easy, overall a decent product for the price, or lack of price, but when it comes to data safety, and their lack of commitment to it, it pretty much negates ease of use.
Pros
DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.
We have been using the product for a month, just enough time to really get the knowledge base filled in, and the support ticketing service set up, when we got notice that the page is showing a PHISHING SCAM. We alerted Tawk to this issue, and they basically said the knowledge base is not their product (which is is tied directly into their dashboard as a service they provide) and can do nothing about it. So they are willfully allowing your client data to be stolen, and have absolutely no desire to resolve it. AVOID. This company will not only make your services look bad, they don't seem to care at all of the safety of your clients.
Cons
Poor customer service. Which is funny for a company that literally provides customer service. DO NOT USE THIS APP.

There are some oddities in the desktop UI that get annoying from time to time. For example, if you are monitoring two web sites and happen to miss a chat request from one site, the interface doesn't show you that missed call -- unless you happen to have that web site selected. The result is that a user question may have been posted that you don't see for days, which makes you look unresponsive at times.

You don't have to pay packet for live chat

Tawk gives you basic, live chat for free with no restrictions. I mean, come on, before you got straight to Intercom, give tawk a try. Sure the feature set and the customization possibilities are better on other platforms but all the other platforms strike me as prohibitively expensive for a small business, especially when most aren't even sure that live chat is for them in the first place. So tawk is a good platform to figure that out on.
Tawk gives me just what I need with no hassles and with plenty of power. There's never been a hiccup in terms of uptime or service.
Cons
The backend is incredibly confusing. I never know which site I'm administrating or how to find what I'm looking for. I mean, compared to the great front end, this is really pretty embarrassing for them. It would be a nightmare, I imagine, for any agency administering more than a few sites.

Not only great for talking with customers but a great visual tool
We introduced Tawk.to as a way to talk with customers who are perhaps reluctant to call or email in case they get the hard sell.
We have found it useful when dealing with customers from abroad who are perhaps not confident enough in their verbal english but happy to type it.
Pros
1 - it's completely free
2 - It just works, really well
3 - On top of the web chat feature I can see in real time what pages on our site customers are visiting, this gives me a really useful picture of what pages are popular.
4 - you can also see what country your visitors are from and what platform/browser they use
5 - lots of useful automated quick responses
Cons
It's not the software's fault but you do get some occasional idiots on web chat. One guy messaged "hello" then continued with the rest of the lyrics for the Lionel Ritchie song - very odd.
The live monitoring occasionally (and deliberately) goes to sleep if you're not active so you have to click to keep subscribing. I expect that's to reduce unnecessary load on the web servers so I don't blame them.
I don't think you have too many options to customise the web chat pop-up shape/size/design other than colour and the text you want to use

It's Forever Free

The best feature of Tawk.to is that the basic chat system (which is actually quite advanced for what it is) is forever free. I have been using Tawk.to for 3 years now and never paid a penny for using it which is fantastic. It is easy to setup, easy to implement and easy to manage!

The only issue I have with Tawk.to is that notification emails from missed chats can take 30 - 60 minutes to be sent via email which means you miss the user being live on your site.

It has a friendly interface easy and the option of shortcuts makes it easy to use. Being able to track visitors live on my website was a blessing because it helped me understand the visitor journeys on my website and possible pain points in the buying process. Chat support app that's not so good, not so bad!
Pros
We can attend to numerous clients at the same time and allocate the chats to all the chat support members. We can create tickets and above all, it's free to use. They have a mobile app too and you can ensure that you never miss a chat!
Cons
The fact that the mobile app practically needs to be logged in every day. The mobile app frequently logs you out and to maintain the session, you have to check your login every few hours/ every day/ every few days. Without any warning, the mobile app would simply log you out without you knowing it!
