Great for managing the entire life-cycle of employees
We are able to track any action for each employee in different departments, and countries.
Pros
It enables to have a helicopter view of a department with employees and getting their impact and finding what differentiates them among others. The report it generates is so good that you can easily demonstrate it to management.
Cons
Creating a first time user and getting it done as same as other interfaces take really time. We couldn't find the option to create a shadow user and implement it to other users, this feature should be adapted.

SuccessFactors a little outdated
utilizing SuccessFactors for applicant tracking, job, postings, goal-setting, and it’s training platform integration are good but the environment or GUI could use an overhaul

SAP HXC Suite : everything in a glance
SAP Success Factor provide a huge boost for human resource dapartment activities.
Pros
The best feature is the native integration with other SAP tools that allow you to leverage the existing data stored in the company's central instance
Cons

Middle of the road
Poor for an ease of use and easy to find what i need to do.
It has potential but is frustrating.
The formatting of objectives look v different on screen as you enter them to what they look like once entered. Needs more structure.
Plus output reports dont exist so we (as a dept) copy each individuals details or the year into a ppt slide for each individual at the end of the year.
An excel or sharepoint workflow is cheaper and more effective from a users pov.
Pros
Its a positive move to have a system for performance management and objective setting available on yoir computer and mobile
Cons
Its complicated.
Its not focused on users. Its not intuitive. The ways to access different elements of the system to change employee flags, see updates in the workflow and use the system are scattered around the page. Some on the top, some on the left, one half way down the page. I waste a lot of time trying to find what im needing to do.
Really does need taking apart and reengingeering with easy or use for the user.

Terrific tool; every business should have such an application
It's been a very welcomed interaction. I would have liked having this tool at my previous employers.
Pros
Intuitively simple. Comfortable design; not overwhelming. A central hub for other pertinent applications; one stop shop.
Cons
Nothing to convey here. The only issues I've had have been connectivity issues due to internal security protocols.

Super Customizable but with a Catch
I supported SuccessFactors at a previous employer where we used most available features that SF has to offer extensively. The application itself could do anything/everything we needed it to, but most configuration changes had to be worked through a third party (SAP partner), which was always frustrating.
Pros
SuccessFactors is extremely customizable, and it also has a ton of features (LMS, Employee management, Performance Reviews, Reporting/Analytics, etc.
Cons
Enabling new modules/features or customizing anything that requires provisioning access will require you to work through a third party. This can be inconvenient and very pricey.

Great HR system
Love that everything is in one space and it is easy to navigate not only my team, but the entire organizational structure. I also like that it is integrated with Percipio, which we use for online learning.
Pros
As a Leader, it is very intuitive and easy to use. Everything is in one spot.
Cons
There are a few processes, such as payroll planning that take a bit of getting used to. This might be more about my company's processes than SAP

A Leading and reasonably cost effective end to end HR system
Overall this system meets our expectations. The platform is fast and stable.
Pros
An end to end system to handle recruitment, onboarding through to employee management, absence, performance and succession planning and offboarding is not easy to find at this price point.
The Integration Centre which can export data for use in other systems is feature rich and very fast for extracting data.
Cons
Reporting, and not unlike any cloud systems, isnt as strong as it could be. It is somewhat clunky and cumbersome to create reports.
SAP Support, so far, is extremely poor.

Easy way to review performance in big teams
Pros
It´s great for perfomance review, allows to track objectives and the progress of each of them, at the end of the year your team members reviews themselves and you review them too, so you can easily and objectively have a full year review to share with them
Cons
The look and feel is kind of old and you have a lot of full page loads when modern software can update part of the content you´re looking

Adequate ATS Tool
The product gets the job done at the end of the day but it can be unpredictable most often than not. It's user friendly but also is not expansive enough to be a designed tool to function with increased creativity.
Pros
The product is user friendly and the ability to perform basic functions works for daily use. The product asthetics are appealing .
Cons
A lot of areas are in need of improvement. When software updates the next day there are always issues that arise that cause delays in daily tasks. External customers are limited in some user options that should not be restricted.

Horrible UX, hight cost and lacking features (Recruiting module)
Pros
Nothing compared to modern ATS´s like Ponty, Workable, Teamtailor, GreenHouse etc. A nice "tell" is that during demo videos (created by actual fans/users on Youtube) the product lags and there is pauses every now and then since the pages have to load and you have to wait. Acceptable 10 years ago, not so much in 2018.
Cons
- Crap UX: Means many clicks = drags down productivity
- Setting up processes or adding a step is an actual project. Something that takes less then 2 minutes with any of the systems above
- No data visualization (unless extra module is bought). Data is everything! And it´s a really unmodern and slow process to create specific reports (again, a project in itself), and then you get a report where have to take the data and maunally use your own tools to visualize your findings.
- This is like a 15 years old recruitment system BUT it´s also expensive and you have to hire extra staff as trainers since the UX is so bad so this ads even more to the total cost.
- No built in surveys. For instance if you want to check your candidate experience and such.
The list goes on but you get the picture.

SuccessFactors has opportunities to improve
We had a poor experience with SuccessFactors. I had a similar experience in a past position. So, this poor experience was a repeat. Performance management module required more effort from administrators and managers to set up, write reviews, deliver to staff etc. Support really liked gamification and we didn't create enough about gamification. We cared about giving the right feedback to staff so they can grow and prosper. It appeared that SuccessFactors was competing with Facebook while we wanted it to compete with Gallup. Support and billing from their side needs to improve. When exiting SuccessFactors, we weren't treated well. SAP is in a great position to focus on changing people's emotions about SuccessFactors. I can totally see its potentials. SAP needs to take a different approach with the product and support.
Pros
The best feature of SuccessFactors was that it was a operationally stable, cloud-native software when competitors were finding their footings with SaaS model and ensuring high availability. SuccessFactors had figured the technology out sooner than competition and our team didn't have to worry about hosting.
Cons
Modules in SuccessFactors appeared to be scattered and cobbled together inefficiently. It appeared that employee data got copied over to payroll module. Performance data was copied from one year to another. It just seemed like a trailer/mobile home put piecemeal'ed together using plastic, wood, metal, soil and broken wheels from trucks and motorcycles were put underneath the trailer/mobile home, but the paint looked uniform and hid these inefficiencies. SAP has a great opportunity to turn this around since their foundational infrastructure is solid.

Complicated GUI Design
Success Factors Learning has a complicated graphical user interface and sometimes it's so hard to use. I couldn't find some options easily (especially when I try to filter some kind of trainings) and spends my time. It's design should be changed to make more eye-pleasing.
Pros

Considering everything, my pick for an HRIS
The sales cycle delivered what they promised; the implementation team was very supportive. S the post go-live support model is the best I have experienced.
Pros
The security and features of the end to end product were very robust. The IT team was happy with it and so was HR. A win!
Cons
There is some awkwardness in the user experience which results in extra clicks to navigate around. It’s clear the modules were stand-alone and have been patched together.

SAP? Nope?
The base its there, but unless you are running SAP everywhere it does not scale well.
Pros
SAP is amazing in one thing, they have an incredible amount of software, I mean they build their entire enterprise on that! Success Factors is one of them, it is a HR management/training software. Many companies use it.
Cons
However they are not very good at maintaining it. Success factors is prone to missing information, subpar support, and just straight up madness. I've had to handle tickets consecutively of missing information and just over all. It looks like a software out of 2003. It is simply garbage. It will not sync well with systems. My god its horrible. Valuable tool with continuous feedback being at the heart of it's many capabilities
Overall it's been a pleasurable experience and the SF Suite has added value to our organization.
Pros
The most satisfying aspects of the Success Factors suite is the wide-range of capabilities, the focus on enhancing employee engagement, and the ability to provide and track continuous feedback across its talent management and performance evaluation functions.
Cons
It's cumbersome to customize and deploy- many smaller organizations may need to hire an implementation partner as a result. Additionally, it's mobile version leaves a lot to be desired.

Too Complicated if you do not need an Enterprise Solution
Pros
It is a solid HCM System if you are a company with subsidiaries and need to connect them all and intend to utilize it as such.
Cons
The system’s implementation, cost, and overall ease of use leave much to be desired, not to mention the customer service. The cost is particularly exorbitant, making it a poor choice unless you intend to use it as a comprehensive ERP system to connect subsidiaries. Its design is somewhat outdated, functioning more like a relationship database.
Upgrades are a slow process, taking years to complete, while other HCM products are rapidly introducing new features to keep pace with technological advancements. Building out this system is a time-consuming process, and by the time it’s ready, newer options have already hit the market. It then takes additional years to integrate these new features.
Considering the high implementation and ongoing costs, it would be more prudent to opt for other HCM systems. These alternatives offer similar modules that function effectively, but at a fraction of the cost.

Not Intuitive and Complicated for no reason
would not recommend to any person or business. not user friendly, not intuitive, and as previously mentioned I am constantly troubleshooting this software with my team and our administrator. on more than one occasion, people's time off has not accrued properly resulting in them either having a surplus or less vacation days than they're supposed to. any time i need to do anything in this software it is overly complicated. i miss our old vacation time software, and so does our team.
Pros
I like that there is an app, however i've never used it and i'm not sure how many of our staff use it either.
Cons
The main reason we use SF is time off requests/vacation management. After almost 2yrs of use, I still get emails from multiple team members that are struggling to:
- see their total accrued vacation time
- enter in their own vacation time (Aka they email asking me to do it for them)
- cancel their own days off (they email me asking me to do it for them)
- edit requests on their own (ex: changing from 3 days of vacation to 2 etc) without cancelling and re-entering the whole thing
My biggest frustration with SF is that it doesn't show team members their total time off, it only shows what they've accrued as of the day they are looking at their profile. in order to see how many days they have left to book they have to adjust the calendar. I get the most emails about this issue, and my team struggles with this the most.
You can't tell if a person has requested a 1/2 or full day w/o going "all the way" into the request - i should be able to look at either the homepage or Workflow Requests and tell if the person needs one day or just a 1/2. Instead you have to go into their profile, look at the request and THEN you can find out how much time they're requesting.
I also get email notifs every time i cancel someone else's vacation time and yet they won't get an email. i've reached out to our system admin about this more than once and they can't seem to come up with a resolution.
This software looks and feels old school - very windows 95.

Really consider whether you need your HRIS and Talent Management system to be one in the same
If you think you need a single HRIS and Talent Management System, there aren't that many options, so SuccessFactors will likely be on your shortlist. My recommendation would be to really consider whether you "need" that, or whether you would be better off with SuccessFactors as your HRIS and opt instead for niche applications for your various talent management needs that can integrate with each other and SuccessFactors.
Pros
SuccessFactors offers an HRIS with modules to cover many aspects of Talent Management, including Recruiting, Onboarding, LMS, Goals, Performance, Succession Planning, Compensation, and Workforce Analytics.
Cons
Several of the modules have been bolted on over the years and are still not fully integrated like you might expect them to be. The look and feel of the modules are dated and there has been very little in the way of enhancements to the talent modules in the 6 years I have been using it. Built-in reports are limited. SAP Support has been poor. There are still many aspects of the configuration that can only be done in the back-end provisioning client by a configuration partner (not by the client), so the client can never truly be self-sufficient.

Used SF LMS from 2015 to 2020
It is ok for Pharma compliance but it is too complex and old technology to compete with fully cloud based software. At least it was up to 2020
Pros

Cons

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite in my life
Every week I issue notes with a repair nature and it is a very easy task to be performed by SAP. For 2 days a week I need to make inquiries of bank details from suppliers and change addresses and emails and it is also an easy activity whose platform facilitates reading and changing data.
Pros
What I like most about this site is the speed of loading each function and page opened, in addition to supporting several open at the same time. But more important is the amount of functions available for use, such as inventory control, supplier search, payment collection, among others.
Cons
Sometimes it's kind of hard to find a search function I need and I end up having to question my colleagues even though I've had access to the site for years.
