Cvent for Event Management and Attendee Experience
Overall, our company and attendees have adopted Cvent and find it easy to register, set schedules, and utilize the app. We highly recommend Cvent when checking out the event management software in the market. Cvent has so many features to make your events stand out, and make your life easier when planning, executing, and marketing your events.
Pros
Cvent makes it very easy to set up and deploy registration websites, manage hotel bookings, flights, and overall user experience. We have been using Cvent for over 5 years and there are always new developments and upgrades being added. There's a huge community of users who also help each other and submit request for new ideas. Cvent is always listening to us and adding new features that enhance our events.
Cons
In the beginning it was a little tricky setting up events. After using it for a few events though, it is now much easier to set up.
Reasons for Switching to Cvent Event Management
Ease of use is a big consideration for our marketing team. We also want features and easy registration processes.Response from Cvent

A Game-Changer for Our Workflow
I am not new to Cvent but have not used it since pre-pandemic. It is an overall exceptional tool for managing our meetings. The Cvent team has done a great job adding features that are user friendly and save time.
Pros

Cons

Great result but incredibly time consuming
Difficult to understand packages. Onboarding often did not even know what was purchased. Poor responses from billing regarding getting payments made. Overall it is presented as a very user friendly and simple app and it is not seems designed to create an upsell to get things accomplished.
Pros
The outcome was great and attendees loved it. The look was good and it captured the info we needed to capture.
Cons
Incredibly time intensive
Not as user friendly as expected
Very poor descriptions of what is included and what is not
for such high tech the payments and invoices were super difficult. They do not simply give you a link for payment. You must contact them and wait for delays to respond to get a payment link and you have to do the same for every payment.
Help sessions were not as described during the sales. Bottom line is that it works well if you want to pay Cvent to do the entire set up. Otherwise be prepared to spend a great deal of time learning and setting up

Excellent Events Management Platform
We have been using Cvent Event Management for over a decade. Throughout that time, I've shopped competitors to see if we need to go elsewhere. Time after time, Cvent has been the only platform who could meet our needs at a competitive price. Well, not just at a competitive price, but AT ALL. Overall, it's been a very positive experience. Support is super-quick and our account rep and client success manager have always been very knowledgeable and on top of things. I really don't see us ever leaving them for a different events platform at any point in the future.
Pros
It's got a TON of flexibility that will fit just about every use case. The pricing is really good compared to a lot of other platforms.
Cons
Sometimes you have to do workarounds for things that should just be normal features, such as adding images to the session descriptions.
Reasons for Switching to Cvent Event Management
The value for the price was really outstanding. The features that we use would have cost much much more with some of the other platforms or were just completely unavailable.- Industry: Higher Education

CVENT FOR YOUR EVENT
When I used them it was great! It was easy to set up and manage and get the reporting I required.
Pros
When I used it I loved it. It was so easy to run conferences and workshop with CVENT.

Director of Professional Development
Having worked with Cvent extensively over the years, I can confidently say it has been a reliable and robust platform. The customer service team stands out for their responsiveness, and my overall experience has been consistently positive.
Pros
Cvent Event Management offers a comprehensive solution that streamlines the entire event planning process. The platform seamlessly integrates essential features including event setup, speaker coordination, and attendee registration management. Event organizers can easily handle sponsor and exhibitor interactions, coordinate sessions, and foster participant engagement through interactive tools. Built-in feedback surveys help measure event success and gather valuable insights. A standout feature is the platform's user-friendly website builder and mobile app creation tools, which enhance the event experience while requiring minimal technical expertise.
Cons
Cvent, while powerful, comes with a significant cost investment, making it most cost-effective for our larger-scale events. The platform's training resources are somewhat restrictive – comprehensive learning opportunities are primarily available through the annual Cvent CONNECT conference or in the Community webinars. This limitation can impact new users' ability to fully utilize the platform's capabilities.

Cvent: A Game-Changer for Event Professionals
My experience with Cvent has been outstanding across various event types. For large in-person events, I’ve relied on its speedy and responsive check-in feature, which made managing a large audience seamless. It ensured that attendees could check in quickly, reducing wait times and enhancing their overall experience.
On the flip side, for smaller meetings, Cvent has been equally effective. I’ve used it to manage notifications, RSVPs, and all logistical details with ease. The platform’s versatility allows me to tailor my approach, whether I’m coordinating a massive conference or an intimate gathering. Overall, Cvent has been an invaluable tool for streamlining the entire event management process.
Pros
What I like most about Cvent is its user-friendly interface, clear knowledge base, and the support from reliable account managers who truly understand my goals. It’s made event management seamless and effective since 2009!
Cons

All in One Event Planning
Pros
Cvent event management made it easier for us to organize our events in one platform. The ready-to-use templates and flexibility to host small to large events is a plus! I love using the customer support live chat anytime I run into an issue. They are quick to respond!
Cons
It can be a bit time consuming on learning how to use Cvent overall, but after that everything is seamless. Not being able to login into multiple devices using one account gets tiresome when I am working offsite and my computer at work still has me logged in.

Evolving Event Management Platform
Cvent keeps updating and adding features as we, the users, request them. It's filled with so many features that can be turned off and on as desired.
Pros
It's easy to set up professional looking registration websites. Our attendees can register in 5 minutes, including requesting hotel rooms and flights.
Cons
Some of the registration type setups take a little time to set up - requires some pre-planning on the event manager's part.

Cvent Event Management - System Administrator POV
Cvent is a necessity for our business to conduct events. We have a mature Strategic Meetings Management process in place and have customized our instance of Cvent to meet our needs for notifications, approvals and checklists for planner documents so we can close out budgets.
Pros
As an administrator focused on Cvent reporting, the access to most elements of meetings is made easy with the report templates in the system. In most cases, you can mix and match different data points within a report rather than run multiple reports and append data. Any time data manipulation is involved the integrity of the data can be compromised. The ability to set some parameters prior to running the report, incorporating filters, and easily move columns makes the reporting aspect user friendly. The ability to publish reports to Access Portal also allows on-demand reporting by non Cvent-licensed users without having to ask someone else to run the report.
Cons
Some data is not accessible from the client interface of Cvent reports, such as Peak Nights as entered in the meeting request form. I also wish more data was available within the report templates in the Admin Reporting module, such as Meeting ID in the Meetings Management Notification Delivery Report. Overall it's a great product and we have a fantastic support team available to help as needed.

You Get What You Pay For
There are many options available to help you learn, including how-to guides, online trainings/certifications, user groups, and customer service. The ability to save events as templates so you do not need to reinvent the wheel (and so you can keep sites consistent) is invaluable.
Pros
The system is very robust and offers just about any capability you may want. Similar products often have limitations to what they offer so they come with a lower price tag. If you need a robust system with the capability to customize reports and data, the higher price tag is worth the cost and will save you time and stress as a result. Customer service is easy to get in touch with and work with any issue you may have. They're also quite receptive to feedback regarding functionality.
Cons
It can feel a bit daunting at first because there are so many items to learn. Some items have limits to their functionality which can get frustrating, but it's no different that similar platforms I've used over the years.

Cvent Event Management is an easy and effective management tool
I enjoy building our programs on Cvent, there was a learning curve as with all systems, but with Cvent's wide range of help desk options we know we always have resources at our fingertips to help us along the way.
Pros
We use Cvent event management daily for multiple clients in a various array of fields. Cvent allows us to customize our registration sites so we can relay meeting specific information to our attendees. We build simple to very complex sites, mobile apps, in-person, virtual and hybrid events. Having one platform that allows us to build all of these options based on our clients needs is amazing, easy, and time saving. We can easily provide reporting, planner alerts, session content and so much more.
Cons
I'm still getting used to the new mobile app layout and features. I used to build the mobile apps on the old Cvent platform and there are a few features I miss having access to such as groups, which made assigning last minute breakouts for attendees a bit easier.
Response from Cvent
Thanks for your feedback Denise! Just to let you know, Audience Segmentation (Groups) in Attendee Hub allows you to configure page visibility and push notifications. We are happy to report that it will include sessions very soon and should give you the capabilities you have described. It should be available in the next month.

Costs are offset by benefits
Pros
Reporting is an excellent feature that allows real-time reporting on almost anything you can think of (there are tons of standard reports built into the system, but you can also create custom reports). Being able to provide stakeholders with a link to run reports on-demand saves a lot of time on the planner's end. The event website is easy to edit and keeps attendees up-to-date with information (thereby cutting down on calls and emails with questions). Emails can be set up to be sent out automatically upon certain parameters being met.
Cons
Cost is a bit higher than other event management platforms, but tends to have very few glitches (if any) and provides excellent management of events from a couple of people to thousands. I have worked with other platforms that could not handle large groups without crashing, so the consistency in performance is a comfort. Oftentimes, you'll find the cost of the platform is offset by time savings.

Solid Product But Deceptive Sales Tactics
Pros
Cvent offers a robust event management platform, complemented by an efficient abstract management system. The suite is enriched with extensive training resources, facilitating seamless deployment of event websites and meeting applications.
Cons
We recently encountered a significant issue with Cvent. Despite upgrading our services, we were inaccurately charged for onsite equipment and additional items we no longer utilize. Efforts to resolve this through the sales representative have been ongoing for months, with little progress.
Upon reviewing past communications, it's evident that the charges contradict the terms discussed during our upgrade. The response from the current sales representative, attributing the error to a predecessor and offering a credit conditional on a three-year renewal, is disappointing and unprofessional. This approach has unfortunately tarnished our long-standing relationship with Cvent.

Cvent Event Management from new user
Pros
It is user-friendly. Cvent offers trainings on the platform, as well as a support phone number and email.
Cons
It can seem overwhelming for a new user. It is so robust and has so many avenues to take. Initial training is needed for a new user, instead of just being self-taught by reading and watching videos alone.
Response from Cvent

Great Customer Support
My overall experience with CVENT is pretty good. We use this platform regularly as we conduct many events in a year. I do not feel like it is very user friendly but it does have capabilities that other platforms do not have which is vital to the way we gather data during the registration process.
Pros
CVENT has a lot of capabilities that other platforms do not such as the ability to link questions, have sub questions and do conditional settings. The customer support is great and has always been able to find a solution to my issues.
Cons
There are often many areas you have to modify for a single final action. For example, for an event to be live, you have to have the event live, the registration active AND the admission types active. Some of the design features are very limited and modifying things like images can be very challenging. We often have repeat business and are finding that when we copy an event, there are a lot of hidden settings that get copied over and can make the new copy a bit messy.

Cvent has been a game changer!
Pros
When we set out to find a new event management tool, we met with several vendors. None could meet our needs. Then we found Cvent. Cvent checked all our boxes and more! The sales staff was extremely helpful and bent over backwards to help us test our specific use cases. They were a wealth of knowledge and gave us confidence in the product. We've now been using Cvent for over a year and we couldn't be happier. It's streamlined our processes, improved the user experiences, and gives us all the reporting we need easily. There team was with us every step of the way during our integration phase and made it a breeze. I highly recommend this tool!
Cons
Cvent was such a drastic improvement from our previous solutions, so it's hard to speak to anything negative! The tool does SO much so it can be daunting to learn everything and get your webpages looking nice. However our support teams have been a great resource. Cvent also has many help articles that are a great reference point.

Cvent Event Management is the best event management software!
Our experience with Cvent is among the best relationships I've ever had with a vendor. The customer service is exceptional. They anticipate our needs and have solutions read for us. We speak to our account manager quarterly and our customer support every other month.
Pros
We use Cvent Event Management to manage our events and membership database. We use Cvent for event set-up, registration, speaker management, sponsor and exhibitor interaction, attendee engagement, and feedback afterward. Cvent has streamlined our processes, allowing a small staff to concentrate on other activities related to our conferences and providing a better experience for our attendees.
Cons
The learning curve was steep. Once we were familiar with it, we could quickly set up events. The products that are still being updated, like Abstract Management, are not as user-friendly as the updated products.

I have been using Cvent since 2014 and can say that I have had a great experience over the past 10 years and have seen so many new updates and features rolled out that make me excited to see what they can offer in the future, as well.
Pros

Streamlines registrations of all sizes
Pros
Whether we're hosting an event for 5 or 5,000 cvent registration helps us streamline our registration process and turn a manual or complex process with ease. We can then do post-reg reports, follow-ups and cross-event attendance analytics with ease.
Cons
Sometimes the need to create custom fields or the understanding of how to 'register on behalf of someone'. The one thing I think we dislike the most is if during set up you create a mandatory checkbox question (i.e. agree to our Terms and Conditions) you can't just edit the text if you find a typo, you have to delete it and start over.

ALL ABOUT CVENT- My experience
Overall, CVENT is the leader in event registration and has allowed us to keep organized with all of our events throughout the year. From the RFP process to the Post Event Surveys.
Pros

Postive & user Friendly
I have been using Cvent since my past 2 organisations for different products. One good thing is it's user friendly, once you start exploring its simple but there should be some FAQ kind of Video simulations which might help the user incase they are stuck with a feature within a feature
Pros
Its simple & easy to use, its easily understandable
Cons
Too many features, most of them pop up even when they are not required

Not Great for Registration
Overall, don't love this platform for what I use it for. I understand that it's good for other things and integrations, but for registration, it's not that great.
Pros
I only used it for registration site building for the most part, but I know you can do many things with Cvent - they have a lot of tools under their umbrella that all integrate with one another.
Cons
The registration site building is not super customizable. I've used many platforms for this and this is my least favorite. The customer service is sometimes slow to respond, or just doesn't in some scenarios, and they don't cover everything - you can connect with someone and then they say they can't help you and send you to someone else.

CVENT Event Management very nearly does everything I need.
It can do a lot in regards to either managing or reporting on events or the registrations of the users of those events.
Undoubtedly there are even more features that I do not use as part of my role.
Pros
It is versatile, allowing for integration with other systems and automation of certain tasks.
It is thorough and detailed allowing for compatibility and customizability to suit your needs.
Cons
There are a few things I would like to additionally have available in regards to reporting and the available fields to select from (given our custom fields, I can select 150 of up to 208 available options --- but there are still some nice-to-haves missing from that list.

Event Management
I highly recommend it. Support is always there to help and are quick with their replies. Being able to manage the attendees has been very easy with information right at your fingertops.
Pros
Once you know how to use it, it has all information you need to manage an event. The registration is easy for attendees. Managing the attendees is easy with the reports you can run.
Cons
Takes getting used to. Training could be more complete. I feel like the training videos do not cover everything. Needs some updates to make it smoother.
